Cadburys Business Park Dorset Premier League
Sherborne town res 4
Merely Cobham sports 2
The hosts went into this game bottom of league facing an opponent who were flying in recent games to take them joint top of the league but it was Sherborne who throughly deserved all 3 points claiming their first win in the league.
Sherborne went back to basics after last weeks fixture vs parley and took the game to cobham creating three good chances to take the lead, but it was the away side who scored with their first shot of the match with Asa Philips scoring a great goal from the edge of the box. (20th min)
Sherborne got their heads up and continued with their game plan and they got there reward when ben Morris scored his first goal since the new management took over and his goal had been coming. (40th min)
Sherborne came out at half time flying and took the lead on 55 minutes when Ollie Hibbard scored a great individual goal turning the defender in the box before striking a great shot into the corner. Two soon became three as Craig Royle got his customary goal in the 65th minute scoring a fine chip after being put through by shane pulling. 5 minutes later Royle got his second and the towns 4th as he finished low into the corner following some determined play. Cobham to their credit kept pushing and got one late on through lee Wilkins (86th min) but Sherborne held on for the their first win of the season and a result which has been coming in recent weeks. Both glenn nathan and Lloyd green were very happy with the result but they know the side still has a long way to go but take nothing away from the lads today as they fully deserved the 3 points.
Up the zebra's!!
