The reserves finally tasted glory for the first time this season as they deseredly beat Parley Sports 3-2 at the grove. New management duo Glenn Nathan and Lloyd Green took charge of their first home game which proved to be a thriller.
Ben Morris and Skipper Harry Turner went close for the hosts and a last ditch tackle from Haydn Brown stopped the hosts taking the lead. However Parley did open the scoring on 25 minutes through Ali Williams via a corner which should have been cleared by the man on the post. Sherborne had the wind behinf them in the second half and started to create more chances with young Ben Morris having the best chance. Sherborne got there equaliser through Dan Newins via a corner from Sam Jarman. The zebra's felt a win was coming and they took the lead when Craig Royel latched onto Ben Morris's through ball and he beat the keeper with a brilliant chip. Sherborne let the lead slip minutes later as left back Jack Hobbs headed into his own net. With extra time loomimg the in form striker Royel took matter into his own hands and scored a brilliant goal with a 25 yard shot. Sherborne saw out the game as comfortable winners and this will only boost the lads with confidence as they have improved over the last 3 games.
