Match Report

The dismissal of Bridport Reserves’ Sam Day proved the catalyst for Sherborne Town Reserves’ remarkable comeback at Raleigh Grove.

Jason Lock’s team trailed 3-1 in the second half before the Bees’ man was given his marching orders for foul and abusive language towards a referee’s assistant.

Despite a quite opening to the game in terms of goals, both goalkeepers were called into early action before the deadlock was broken.

The Dorset Premier League visitors raced into the two-goal advantage, before being penned back in a score line that eventually ended 4-4.

Jordan Butler, Tim Trevett, Chris Cowley and J Flack all netted for Sherborne as Lock’s men earned a hard-fought point.

The eight-goal draw meant that the three games between the two teams this season has produced 29 goals.
