Odd Down (Bath) returned home with the three points after a second half strike was enough to separate the two sides.

It was a tight contest for the majority of the game, with both sides creating their fair share of chances.

Sherborne Town welcomed back forward, Tony Cunningham after he re-joined the club from Magna Dorset Premier League side, Westland Sports.

Sherborne made a bright start and after a few good moves, midfielder, Matt Morley saw his effort rise over the bar. At the other end, Odd Down’s first effort came after 12 minutes and a good save was needed from Sherborne keeper, Marc Lock to keep the scores level.

The visitors created a couple more chances before Sherborne had a glorious chance to go in front; Lewis Morgan whipped in a delightful ball for forward, Sam Bowers who could only head wide.

Three minutes after the restart, Odd Down saw a long-range effort saved and a minute later, an Odd Down header went just over the bar.

On 57 minutes, Sherbs’ Sam Bowers had his shot saved as both sides continued to look for a way into breaking the deadlock.

On the hour, keeper Marc Lock made a fine save to deny an Odd Down attacker when through one-on-one. From the resulting corner, the ball had to be cleared off the line by the Sherborne defence.

On 62 minutes, Sam Bowers and Matt Morley linked up well and the latter saw his shot saved. Two minutes later, the visitors went in front when a cross from the right found a n Odd Down attacker in the box and he did well to squirm the ball past Marc Lock.

The remaining 25 minutes saw many half chances for both sides as the visitors held on to claim the three points.
