Sherborne Town followed up their impressive performance against Larkall Athletic and made it two wins from two, with a 3-1 victory at nearby, Street.
It was only after two minutes when Sherborne began to show Street a preview of what was to come, when midfielder, Harry Montacute fired the first shot of the game, which went wide of the Street goal.
After a period of balanced play and on 22 minutes, Street had their first effort of the game, which resulted in a goal when a Street player jumped unmarked to head a free-kick into the net. Three minutes later Sherborne got the leveller when defender, Jason Bond sent a long and penetrating cross into the Street goalmouth for defensive teammate, Steve Teylor to volley home.
With a minute to go until the half-time break, Sherborne got themselves in front when forward, Sam Bowers got onto the end of a Kyle Chesterman cross, and at the same time moved on to two goals in two games for this season.
Seven minutes into the second half, Sherborne midfielder, Matt Morley put Jordan Butler through with a good pass, but his shot went wide. Sherborne continued to bombard the hosts goal with both Butler and Montacute having good chances.
Street were increasingly showing urgency to get back into the match by throwing more players forward.
Sam bowers was then substituted following an injury, with replacement, Chris Cowley, immediately suffering cramp and having to be replaced by Mark Lawrence.
Eleven minutes from time, Harry Montacute scored his second of the season and doubled Sherborne’s advantage with a goal which would grace the Premier League, when he volleyed in an unstoppable shot from 25 yards. After six minutes of injury time, the game finished 3-1, putting Sherborne Town top of the table.
