Two first half goals from the visitors helped them on the way to a 3-1 success at Sherborne Town.
Longwell Green Sports (LGS) started brightly and went in front within a minute of the game starting. Their next attack was again dangerous and they saw an effort cleared off the line after 3 minutes.
Sherborne Town's first main effort came after 14 minutes when Matt Morley drilled the ball wide before five minutes later, captain, Jamie Manley (returning from injury) also saw his effort go wide.
LGS doubled their lead on 27 minutes when S.Dew slotted the ball past the advancing Mike Kneish and into the empty net.
Ten minutes later saw a long-range effort from LGS crash the bar before on 40 minutes, Kneish made a good save to deny a LGS forward.
With half-time looming, Sherborne got themselves back into the match when a header across goal was turned in by Chris Cowley from 10 yards.
With Sherborne looking to level the match, LGS made it 3-1 after 50 minutes.
On 64 minutes, a LGS forward came close when his strike cannoned off the post and into safety.
With 25 minutes remaining, Sherborne manager, Mickey Spencer made the first of his three substitutes, with the introduction of Mark Lawrence who came close to reducing the deficit when his effort blazed over the bar on 80 minutes.
